When British golfer Gramae Storm took home the BMW South African Open last week, there was no one more happy than his local caddie Jeffrey Thami Nikonyane. The excited caddie had just hit the jackpot big time!! Taking home 10 times his yearly salary, for a total winfall of R300,000 ($30,000aud) in one week. The 51 year old usually earns about R500 a week as a caddie at the Wanderers Golf Club in Johannesburg.

Last October, Storm, fell 100 Euros short of automatically retaining his playing card, but subsequently moved up one crucial spot on the money list when Patrick Reed failed to play the minimum number of events.
With this his second European Tour International Schedule victory in his 419th official European Tour event he now moves to 204,708 points in the Race to Dubai and could move to just outside the top 130 in the Official World Golf Ranking from 251st.
